Lots of Color

Once the Eldest Sisterpants told me that my style consists of wearing one color and neutrals, which is generally true... but not today!  Unless you count "Basil Pesto" (the pants) as neutral...  In which case this outfit would just be purple + neutrals...

This picture makes me think I'm trying to master the art of looking uncomfortable!

Shirt: Thrifted (Forever21 originally)
Sweater & Pants & Shoes: gifted (Old Navy)

Taylor Swift in Tokyo

Hello, this is sister #3, Emilia, who my sisters have kindly allowed to be a part of this amazing blog of fashion and life. I am currently living in Tokyo (for a whole month!) and as everyone should probably know, it is a pretty fashionable place. My fabulous husband, and Japan-know-it-all suggested I take a trip to Japan's Old Navy, better known as Uniqlo. It's all the basics, at reasonable prices, in hilariously much smaller sizes than in America. Actually.. the smalls aren't crazy small, it's just that the extra-larges aren't particularly extra-large.

Now, I'm seriously considering buying this... Americans may like Japanese imports like Hello Kitty, but Japanese people also really like some American stuff. Peanuts is one!

One of my favorite discoveries of Japan thus far is their love of demurely flowered stuff. Flowers!! It's sort of  a Sophia Coppola Marie-Antoinette ideal/color palette of French style. In small doses it makes me swoon.

Unfortunately, puffy coats will never go out of style anywhere.

Scarves! You would fit me!

The Taylor Swift song that was playing was "Stay Stay Stay."

Eventually, I will make it to the Shibuya Forever 21. In the meantime please accept this stylish baby as a bonus! Stylish babies of Tokyo! Its own blog! Let's do it.

Winter-y Pastels

This is another thing I wear maybe too much because it is super comfortable and the sweater is probably the warmest one I own. Tess just wrote about some of her favorite Christmas presents, so I should add that this sweater (from Tess) and the shoes are probably 2 of my faves from this year's Christmas.  Annnnd maybe I'm wrong but I feel like the bright blue goes really well with the pink & gray of the sweater.

In other news, yesterday I moved my Wii into my room and watched far too much TV since then. Mostly The Mindy Project. I reeeeeeeally like her style.

Okay! That's all I got for today!

Sweater: gift (Forever 21)
Shirt: Thrifted
Jeans: via Gordman's
Shoes: gift
Earrings: Forever 21

Bonus: My sweater is in this video by Forever 21 because...yeah. Not sure I'd wear the hat with it...

Christmas Present Eval

I think my favorite present from Christmas may have been my owl sweater

Also it's not the first sweater I own with an owl on it.  Next time I take a picture I should probably close my closet.
(Sweater: old navy, shirt:H&m, skirt: thrifted, boots: present (Forever21?), tights: I don't remember)

Also this is the end of some delicious, but very thick Hungarian Mushroom soup.  Maybe my new cookbook(s) were actually my favorite present(s).

Speaking of Christmas, here are the very fashionable Christmas Garveys:

Too many clothes to mention.  ENJOY!

What's Better?

I started taking pictures with just the necklace on but then my face got cold so I put on a scarf...
which one looks better? Emilia doesn't like the scarf. I think it's ok.

Also SURPRISE there's no Old Navy in this outfit. (That's super rare....I guess the coat I wore over it spoils that...oh WELL)

sooooconfused about accessory choices

p.s. It's fairly awkward to write a post with pictures of yourself in a public space (coffee shop).

Shirt & Skirt: Thrifted
Boots: Forever 21+
Belt: Walmart
Tights: gift (Avenue?)
Necklace: Modcloth
Scarf: is my mom's

p.p.s. there's pieces of our Christmas tree all over the porch. Heehee.

I'll get the camera fixed someday, Tess...

Meanwhile, I will use someone else's camera...

...and post some outfits every once in a while...

This is something I wear way too often because it is very very comfortable! That's about all I got. It's very cold and icy and I did not stay outside very long to take pictures.

Sweater/Shirt: Old Navy
Leggings: Lands End
Boots: Payless
Necklace: Forever 21

Fix your camera, Madeleine

One of my Christmas presents was the Moosewood Cookbook.  I will use this blog to document my travels through the book.  Exhibit number one is a pizza on a "zucchini crust," i.e. a delicious cheesy zucchini pancake.

THIS IS THE CRUST- zucchini flour egg and cheeeeeeese

And here's the pizza:

Tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, roasted red peppers, spinach and cheese!!!

Hello World,
 We are blogging.  It's important.
